I bought this late last year as an addition to my home theater setup. I did not want to have to manually swap CDs when playing games on the HTPC. The device fits the bill well. The only complaints I might have about the hardware are footprint (it's rather big, but it kind of has to be) and noise (lots of loud clicking, grinding and whirring but only switching discs).The software that comes with the unit is another matter. No-frills is the best way to describe it. Function over form. Once you figure out how it works, it's functional but far from elegant. The real problem with the software, though, is a resource leak. Do not leave the software running on a PC that doesn't get rebooted daily. The manufacturer has been notified and hopefully will issue an update soon.
Overall I do recommend this unit. If the software gets fixed, I'll amend that to "highly recommend".
