This little Intel dual-core CPU won't win any benchmarks, but it does perform adequately. It is made in 45nm, so it uses a lot less power than the older 65nm technology Core-based, socket 775 CPUs.I underclocked it to 2GHz, and built a system that sips only 35W.This is only about 5W more than an Intel Atom-based system, and this thing will whips its pants in terms of performance.
The heat sink fan (HSF) is a bit of a joke and costs it a star. The new ones are very small and keep the noisy fan.I wound up spending 2/3 of the the price of the CPU on a large, quality HSF with heat pipes. The aftermarket is so good for the CPU that it runs fanless.I feel bad about having to spend so much on the HSF, but I wanted a truly silent and low-power system.
