Belkin F5D8013 N Wireless Notebook Card Review

Belkin F5D8013 N Wireless Notebook CardI had a Linksys PCMCIA card, which finally died. It worked pretty well, except that I had the router downstairs and it had to transmit through several walls. I added the range extender antennae to the router and could receive anywhere in my 2700 sft home. I replaced the Linksys card with the Belkin and could not log on in hotels or airports while traveling. Furthermore, I have since moved my router upstairs and am sitting 16 feet from it with the range extender antennae and I keep getting dropped signals. My other two computers have no problem picking up reception even though they are 1/2 the home away. I am presently in the market for a new PCMCIA card. I have heard that the 'Orinoco' chipset provides the best range. John B. Egan
