Desktop Computer Review: USB Drink Chiller and Warmer Review

I received the Coolit Drink Chiller as a gift.It consists of a plastic box about 3"x5"x1" with a 2-1/2" round metal disk at one end.When the attached cord is plugged into the USB port of a computer the disk gets cold. The theory is you place a drink on the disk and it keeps it cold while you are working.Sounds like a great idea!

I believe I have given the Coolit a through try by placing plastic bottles, aluminium drink cans and a stainless steel water bottle on the cooling plate.The Coolit will not chill a room temperature drink and my big the problem is the Coolit will not keep my cold drink cold.It works the best with an aluminium drink can and even then, it only chills the bottom portion of the drink in the can.The unit also produces a fan type noise.

So, if you want another noisy device taking up room on your desk that will only keep the last swallow of a soft drink cool, then this is the product for you.As far as I am concerned I will pass and put the Coolit in my Goodwill donations box.This was another great idea that fell short somewhere in the production.
