Just received and installed my new ram memory!!! Installion for these items is a breeze, no more than 20 minutes at best from start to finish. I have an older Dell 4700 Dimension desktop which came with 1GB of ram when purchased! I upgraded to 2GB about a year ago and still wasn't happy. The speed increase from Crucial 2Gb is noticeable, no I am not setting the world on fire, like some of the new computers with 8GB plus ram, but it is an improvement for now and it didn't break the bank either!!!!
After installing the new memory modules, I replaced the cover, attached all cords (i.e. printers,monitor,speakers,etc.), then started the computer. You will receive a screen before booting to Windows telling you of new memory installed. F1 past screen and "Presto" Windows came on as usual with no glitches and considerably faster.
The other thing I liked about Crucial is their memory selector found on Crucials website. It shows compatible memory to specific computers. Nice feature!!!!
Overall I would recommend these memory modules to anyone who isn't ready to invest in a new system, but would like their computer to be considerably faster.
