Guys,I've only used Dominator memory from Corsair since they launched it back in 2006. It was $400 for this kit back then and I still pony'd up and bought it because it was Corsair.
I've tried other brands and they've failed me more than once. for example My son wanted Crucial Ballistix with the flashing LED's and that crapped out after I ran memtest86 for 3 minutes. Sad.
DOMINATOR is the only way to go, especially with the fan that comes with this kit.
This is my son's gaming system now and has the following parts:
Intel Q6600
XFX 780i Motherboard
XFX 9800 GTX Black Edition
Corsair Dominator (2 sets of this kit)
Corsair 550w Power Supply
WD 150GB Raptor
Zalman CP-9500 CPU cooler
Much to my dismay, my son plays COD4 on this rig for 2-3 hours a day.
He's even better at COD4 than I am and makes me look like an old man on a PC.
With that said, the memory worked right out of the box even using two different kits of matched memory.
I've stuck with Dominator since day one and won't touch anything else.
