Desktop Computer Review: Intel PRO/1000 PT Desktop Adapter Review

Ok, so it costs a couple bucks more. But I've found these adapters to be absolutely bulletproof. I have half a dozen of these installed now and every one has installed completely effortlessly, performed great, and never made so much as a peep afterward.

In my opinion, half of the value proposition is the great drivers they have and the broad compatibility. I run Linux as well as Windows, and being able to have default support for the card built into the operating system is a great convenience when I'm reconfiguring or repurposing a box. I wouldn't consider any other brand.
