At least Netgear is consistant, all of their products are garbage, this one is no exception. I was traveling to my families house, and in a jam I had my sister run out and buy a wireless card for her son's computer, so he could get hooked into the internet to play his game. I am no newbie,I am a network engineer with almost 20 years experience with PC and networks. Well, I get this card and follow procedure to the tee, even download the newest drivers. For the life of me it would not get an IP from the router, yes the firewall was off. Finally, after hours of playing around, I just set it to all static, I manually configured the card, and that was the answer. No there was no problem with DHCP because my laptop got an addy right away. Both Netgear cards and routers are total garbage. In the past they made good products. Whoever writes their driver software should be fired, also whoever manufactures and QAs the new junk that Netgear is putting out.I don't care how big the antenna is, if the thing doesnt work, its useless. I now never buy Netgear, always DLink which works all the time.
