I had purchased a Sony VGN-FW465 laptop from Amazon and needed to upgrade it to 8GB of system RAM in order to do software development. Well, Sony doesn't provide a clue as to what type of system RAM would be a proper speed and configuration (number and size of RAM chips on the modules) for said laptop. After MUCH searching on the Internet I found a vendor whose price was over $100 higher than what I paid Amazon (it was a different brand of RAM), BUT whose site provided the specification I needed to determine what RAM would match my Sony laptop.To make a long story short, I easily installed this Patriot RAM, thereby upgrading my laptop from 4GB to 8GB, and as I use an x64 system of Windows, one could immediately see the performance increase. I took the "old" 4GB and installed it in my father-in-law's 2 GB HP laptop (again after doing a compatibility search). So two people and two laptops benefitted from this one purchase!
