Desktop Computer Review: Single pack ATX form factor desktop board based on the Intel 945P Express chips ( BOXD945PSNLK ) Review

I purchased 4 systems with P945PSN motherboards with Intel 551 or 561 CPU and Intel CPU fan. As HT performance increases, CPU temperature rises quickly (15 sec) from 55 degC to over 72 degC CPU temp even though other temperatures inside box remains 38 degC or less. Intel's latest BIOS won't run fan above 2500 RPM under any condition or configuration even though fan can run 3600 RPM. CPU keeps wanting to shutdown due to overtemp. ALL 4 systems are having BAD overheating problems with TAC 1.1 Prescot Ready chassis with sidepanel open or not and BIOS control of fan or not. Intel' custom BIOS is BAD and lacking features. Intel's documentation is BAD and incomplete. D945PSN motherboard will not support RAID 0 for dual access harddrive configuration. Intel's online support is very BAD and lacks content. Intel wants product support to come from distributor primarily. Intel's paid for product support is BAD and refuses to answer telling questions or even consider that BIOS control of fan could be the problem. Many support calls and weeks of delay got me nowhere. It has been over 1 month and I still do not have any solution or a working system. Intel will not advance ship replacement parts even under waranty. Intel want to take slow troubleshhooting route replacing one part at a time, with the cheapest part first even when the substitution doesn't make sense. If you are going to use Intel motherboard and Intel CPU, definitely use a good 3rd party CPU heatsink and fan.
