Desktop Computer Review: Arctic Cooling VGA Accelero Twin Turbo Pro (ACCEL-TT-PRO) Review

This product would have received 5 stars if not for the installation instructions.They're adequate for an ideal installation, but lack any instruction on the 'other than ideal' install.I installed this card on a Gigabyte Radeon 4890.It replaced the stock Zalman single fan cooler, and perfoms MUCH better.I have yet to see the temps above 45C and that's running it with the 7V adapter that runs the fans slower and quieter (the instructions don't mention anything about this adapter even though it's included).The instructions give a single picture explaining the power connection.There's a single power cable that supplies both fans.At the end of the cable are both a 3 and 4 pin connector.If you're like me and have a 2 pin connector on your card, you're on your own to figure out that the only way to power the fans is use the included adapter and power your fans directly from your computer's power supply.This means your fan speed isn't variable, but constant (which should be no big deal since the original 2-pin connector on the card means your original fan was constant speed as well).The adapter has both a 12V plug and 7V plug, so you do get a choice there.12V means more airflow, but a bit noisier; 7V, less airflow & quieter.As mentioned earlier, my installation works fine with only the 7V plug... I like quiet, and for cooling a heater like the 4890, this thing is awesome!The heatsink, fans & shroud take up a lot of room so you should use the diagrams on Artic Cooling's site to verify it'll work in your set up.It wasn't an issue for me.
